Recently a lot of people have taken huge interest in keeping parrots as a pet. Parrots are lot of fun and it’s easy to take good care of them. One of the best pet birds is diamond dove.

Diamond doves live from 5-20 years and grow to the size of parakeets or budgerigars. The colour of these birds is remarkably beautiful. Normally the male ones will have bluish gray touch on the necks, back, wings and head. They would also have a circular orange mark around their eyes. Their female counterparts have more brownish touch to their head, neck and wings and their orange circles are not as well defined as their male counterparts. The diamond doves also come in silver, blue, yellow or pure white colours.

Unlike few other species of parrots, doves are not noisy at all. They would make a gentle “coo-coo” sound. Female doves also make the same sort of sound but they sound softer.

Diamonds are always the happiest when they are in company of their own kind. If you want to have a family of dove then buy a pair but if you don’t, buy a single dove. Give them a little time and they will surely bond with you.

You might find your bird following you around while you are working at your home. Be careful not to step on them as they tend to walk around the ground. Most of their time, they would be poking their cage floor.

Speaking of cage, make sure you provide your dove with a cage that has enough space length wise. Give them enough space to fly perch to perch. A 2 feet by 2 feet cage will do just fine for a pair of diamond doves and they will also be able to breed in that cage. Keep the cage floor clean from any metal wire as the bird will pluck the floor for grains.

Feeding diamond doves is a simple process. Provide them a diet containing finch seeds mixed with millet. You might also add a vitamin powder. Feed them egg crumbles occasionally.  Grit is a very important food for the diamond doves. Grit helps them to crush the seeds they eat. Grit is also a fantastic source of calcium.

Each diamond dove has a different personality. Once they bond with you, they are much like house cats. They might be lazy, aggressive or even very attention demanding. You can train your bird to sit on the hand held perches once you call her name.

Majority of the people are well familiar with the various types of goldfish that you can win at the county fair. However, a lot of different kinds of goldfish are there. Few of the different species include the Shubunkin, the Black Moors, the Common and then the Comet. This particular article will focus on some of the different kinds of goldfish. The Common Ones

The Common goldfish are pretty hardy, so they’re in deed excellent for the starters. You can easily keep them inside an aquarium or even in a backyard pond. They prefer living with the other fishes of their kind. Commons generally grow as long as between 12-14 inches.

The Comets

Like the Commons, these fishes are also pretty hardy. You can easily keep them in the backyard ponds as well. They are having long, slender build and also a long single tail fin. As a matter of fact, they are quite fast swimmers, so you require providing them a good bit of space. Comets are then also pretty sociable; thence you should try to keep them with the other fishes.

The Black Moors

Unlike the golden counterparts, the Black Moors are generally black in color. However, few have been bred to be of some other colors. In addition to being different in color, they are also different from the common goldfish in regard to having egg shaped bodies and then the telescope eyes.

The Shubunkin

The Shubunkins are also quite hassle free for the starter’s beginners to maintain. They are pretty long, slender, and at the same time pretty fast swimmers. Along with ears, horses also express themselves with t e help of their tails. By the positioning of the tail, you can easily figure out the mood of your horse. If excited the horse will have the tail erected like a flag. While relaxing it will have it’s tail in a normal manner. When it tucks it’s tail to it’s body, your horse is afraid.

Due to their structure and position of eyes, horses can see two different objects at the same time. While watching closer objects, horses keep their head down and keep it up while looking at objects located away from them. Horses are also color blind.

Horses use their voice to communicate with other horses. They also use their different body language to make a point. You have to learn what they mean or express with which moves. Always be responsive to their attitude and expressions and you will start learning to communicate and develop a bond with your horse.

Try to keep a pair of otocinclus catfish. This fish can control the algae in the tank. You may also want to raise a killifish. This kind of fish is easy to maintain and perfect for beginners though the killifish is very difficult to find. You can opt for bala sharks. This fierce looking creature looks wonderful but it’s not really a shark. It grows about 12 inches. If you plan to have large fish then you can go for it.

Be careful when you choose cichlids as it can grow really large. When it comes to angelfish, it needs about 11 gallons of aquarium. Avoid “Oscars” as it eats other small fish and can create a mess if kept in the aquarium.

Choosing to have piranhas might not be a great idea. They eat other fish like goldfish and other species also. They can also cause parasitism and diseases in the aquarium. If you want to have piranhas then make a separate aquarium for them. But be very careful about handling those fish. Feed them properly because they eat each other if not fed regularly.

Tortoises are very popular as a calm and quiet pet. As far as the species of tortoises are concerned there are thousands. Among them there are amazing African tortoises. These tortoises originate from Senegal, Niger, Mali, Chad and some other African places. These tortoises are found in Sahara desert. If you notice you will see than African tortoises have brownish or yellowish flat and broad carapace. The old males grow reverted marginal scales which are located in front of the carapace.

These tortoises have unusually thick skin which works as their protection from the desert heat and keeps the moisture intact in the body. These tortoises are very strong and they like to move around. That’s why the owners should provide them with plenty of free space for movement. There are distinguished spurs found on the rear legs. This spurs have no functions what so ever.

Keep the tortoises away from all harmful objects or animals. Also make sure that nothing inedible should be there for them to eat. African tortoises are great eaters and they will consume anything and everything that is colorful and small no matter whether is a small animal or a metal toy or anything. They will just consume it within no time if they can reach it. Keep small animals, children, plastic, insecticides, glasses and likes away from them. Also keep them away from dogs or raccoons as these animals might harm the tortoises.

The tortoises do not digest their foods properly. Animal skins, hair and fur have been found in their feces. Like any other tortoises they eat up anything small that comes in their way. That’s exactly why the owners call them the “eating machine”
